Nov. 1, 2012 – Hurricane Sandy has impacted and devastated areas from the Carolinas to the New England states. Hearts With Hands™ relief teams in the New England areas are requesting assistance due to flooding and extreme power outages. One area, Westchester County, NY, which is about 45 minutes north of New York City has been hit extremely hard. Thousands are out of power and the utility companies are predicting several weeks before many of the areas will be up again.
Due to other responses throughout the country and the local needs throughout western North Carolina, Hearts with Hands™ is critically low on food and relief supplies. Bill Bradley, Executive Director of Hearts With Hands stated, “We are requesting the following non-perishable foods and relief items to respond next week.”
Individuals, churches, or others who need to deliver items after normal hours should contact Hearts With Hands™ to set up a convenient drop of time.
