September 7, 2017 | Hurricane Irma

Press Release:

For immediate release.

ASHEVILLE|September 7th, 2017

Hurricane Irma is expected to make landfall in the State of Florida with a significant impact expected. Hurricane Irma is projected to bring tropical force storm conditions well into Upstate South Carolina, the Tennessee Valley and Western North Carolina. Hearts With Hands continues to support relief efforts in Texas from Hurricane Harvey, and are now preparing advance teams and supplies to respond to the threat of Irma. Hundreds of thousands of pounds of supplies have been loaded to tractor trailer and are in staging mode as the storm makes landfall over the weekend.

Filed assessment teams will be evaluating where Irma efforts will be focused after landfall, with a focus on Florida, as it is projected to receive the hardest hit at time of print. Hundreds of volunteers have logged countless hours, packing “Boxes of Hope©” ready to feed those who are hungry and hurting. Hearts With Hands is also making supplies ready on stand-by, for our home communities in the event that Irma brings major impact to the Western North Carolina region. We are prepared, ready and available to respond where we are needed.

Field service teams will continue to support efforts in Texas with distribution of supplies and recovery efforts. The devastation in Texas is widespread, and the need is still great in the Lone Star State. Please continue to pray for our leadership teams, as well as the volunteers, truck drivers and support staff as we help those in need. When the storm comes, we will be your hands, supported, from your heart.

God Bless, and please, be in prayer for all in the path of the storm, and those already hurting.

In His Service,

Hearts With Hands

Press Release:

For immediate release.

Good afternoon from Green Sea, SC.

Hearts With Hands has an established and operational contingency on the ground, assisting the victims of Hurricane Matthew. North Carolina and South Carolina are still in a state of emergency as subsequent flooding is still occurring in many areas. Hearts With Hands has delivered thousands of pounds of relief supplies and continue to have a growing need. Field Service Teams have established a distribution center at “Harvest Church” in Green Sea, SC and has quickly become a pivotal point for the entire region. Many roads and highways remain closed or partially blocked, and has made distributing supplies a challenge. We continue to support efforts as long as supplies last, and need your support to continue our work. The need is great, and the devastation is widespread. It will take all of us, bearing the responsibility as neighbors to help one another. Please continue to pray for Hearts With Hands as we try to facilitate every need, of every person affected.

In His Service,

Winston B. Parrish
